We offer a complete service of design and manufacture of bespoke fitted furniture and free-standing furniture, film and television props, and artworks. We will discuss your requirements and design something that fits your needs, or work to drawings provided by you if you prefer.
The workshop is fully kitted out with all of the tools necessary for any aspect of making and finishing works, and has a separate finishing workshop so that varnishes can be applied in a dust-free environment.
Fitted works are made in the workshop, then transported to site for assembly and fitting. Varnishing is done before delivery, with a final coat and touching up often needed on fitted pieces after assembly.
Work is done in both traditional and modern ways - for example I sometimes use dovetails to make drawers, sometimes use drawer-lock joints, and sometimes fully-adjustable metal modern system drawers.
If you want to have something made, a site visit will be arranged, where measurements will be taken and your needs will be discussed. A short while later a rough price will be worked out. If this is acceptable I will make drawings of the proposed works. These can then be modified until we agree on a design when a final price will be given. These drawings are what I work from, and the final product will look the same. The price given is a quote, not an estimate, meaning that it will not change. Any reasonable unforeseen problems will be coped with by me without increasing the price.
